Hey, so this week I've decided to do something a little different and instead of discussing more women's fashion, I'll be looking at my favourite male fashion trends.
Men are SO lucky because they can just throw on a pair of baggy jeans and a graphic-tee and still look really fashionable, no need for accessories, just looking simple yet stylish.
I do have quite an amount of experience in male shopping because I so kindly give my advice to my brothers, trust sometimes they need it.
1. Quarter Zips - A Ralph Lauren quarter zip is just so classy, such old money vibes. As well as buying straight from a brand you can find some really nice second hand quarter zips on Vinted and save yourself spending a fortune. Whether its green, navy or red, quarter zips look so good with jeans, chinos or they're ideal for wearing on race day.
2.Retro vintage sports tops - Retro vintage sports tops are such a nice option for boys, they are trendy and can show a little about a guys personality. Whether it's Irish Rugby or a Liverpool top, they highlight a little of what your interested in, while still being stylish. It also shows you know how to shop because these types of tops are sometimes hard to come by. The Mixer NI on Instagram has some great options for retro sports tops so give them a look.
3.Linen shirts - If you're planning on going on a holiday linen shirts are light in your suitcase, light for the heat and look great with a pair of shorts or even khakis. They definitely make a guy look more stylish and again give off the old money vibe. A nice linen top with a nice watch is a great combo.
4.Baggy Jeans - Skinny jeans are not it. I repeat not it. Don't be stuck in 2019. Buy baggy. Baggy jeans make a guy look so much more trendy and then you can pair them with baggier t-shirts rather than tighter ones and nice baggy hoodies and sweatshirts. Layering a hoodie with a t-shirt sitting out underneath on top of baggy jeans looks so fashionable.
5.Salomons - If someone's wearing Salomons you just know they're drippy. Well that's my opinion anyway. These hiking shoes have turned into fashionable every-day attire. My pair are SO comfy so I can see why. Salomons are such a great versatile shoes for a boy as you could wear them daily, for sportswear, or to dress up an outfit when going out to socialise. They cost quite the pretty penny but for the comfort and style cred you'll get, they are well worth it.
6.Watches - You can tell a lot about a man by his watch whether it's a Casio, a Tissot or an Apple watch. I feel like you know a man is mature if they have a watch. A sports watch tells you they're a gym rat and a Rolex or a Tissot tells you they're minted or maybe they've been on holidays and chatting up some street vendours.
7.Birkenstocks - They just have such a nice vibe as a shoe. Whether its a sandal or a Birkenstock Boston they're so comfy, durable and really handy to throw on. As far as slip-on shoes for boys go, I do think this is the only type I've come across that I've actually liked and although I originally thought they were ugly, I now think they're ugly cute. They do give off more of a coastal vibe less city like but if you're into that beach boy aesthetic Birkenstocks would be a great investment.
8.Carhartt and dickies - These are two leading edgier male brands. Carhartt does such nice jeans, hoodies and jumpers for men and wearing this brand really makes a guy look cool. Dickies as well has such nice jeans, hoodies and tops with some really cool graphics. These brands both give off an American streetwear kind of vibe being fashion forward in their designs. By wearing these brands you know you'll be keeping up with the trends.
Hopefully this will have helped some guys have more of an idea of what to be filling your wardrobe and shopping basket with and so you'll be looking like the most fashionable boyos about!
